Consultation
Intake
Here is where we’ll discuss your health history, delving into past injuries and events to develop the most effective treatment plan for you. Upon your first visit, you’ll be asked about the duration and age of your injuries, as issues from the past often explain the pain we experience today. The intake form also help keep you and the practitioner safe by avoiding potential risks.
Physical Assessment
During the physical assessment we look at a few different things. The posture analysis comes first. With this we can see exactly how your muscle are positioned in their most natural position. From the static assessment, posture distortion patterns are found in almost everyone, this does not mean pain has to be associated but it is usually an indication that your body has some area of tension that could be released by massage. Next we’ll do a biomechanics test to see how your muscle act during an exercise that activates multiples myofascial lines. Finally we will take a more close up look at the areas of tension and perform muscle testing (grading) to the affected joints.
Palpation
Palpation is another way of saying, feeling for things on the body. Once we have identified why you are feeling pain or tension, it is essential that we find it on the body so that we can create a plan to release it but also to address the underlying cause that resulted into your symptoms. without treating the cause, the problem WILL come back. just like any other treatment, such as physical therapy and acupuncture, massage is not a wonder cure that will make you feel great after one session. It takes time. That is also why I build this business model the way it is. It allows you to come see me more frequently at a far lower cost.
